Screening Camp at Bangarpeth

Cancer screening camp was organized by Kalp Cancer Foundation on 25th May at Bangarpeth in association with Annapoorneshwari Sewa trust and Mubarak Trust. The program was conducted in a local school.
Mr. Narayanswamy and Mr. Rajendra from I CAN explained the role of local NGOs in conducting these camps. Dr. Geeta spoke about Kalp cancer foundation and necessity of such camps. Two persons were identified with cancers, one with esophageal and the other with prostate cancer. The cases were referred to higher centre for further management. Four females turned out to be positive for VIA. The PAP smears were taken. The cases will be managed based on the cytology reports. Two benign cases were detected and appropriate advice was given. Mrs. Arifa Sultana, ex municipal counselor helped in local arrangements and in motivating people to attend the camp.
